    Delicious carriers

As we know, the bakery industry needs to use a large variety of food materials and tools, which were considered as “delicious carriers” in this project. However, when people enjoy the delicious food, these carriers will not appear; while images formed in our mind are mostly abstract senses of happiness. We may describe the happiness brought about by the bakery food as “lying in a lump of pink cotton candy” or “playing in the sea of chocolate”, but we seldom recall those basic food materials and baking tools. Thus, I intended to regard the indispensable “delicious carriers” as the main characters of Maky Cake Shop.

First of all, the most basic material “dough” was taken as the core shape, which then transformed and formed into the image of Princess Maky. The image of the King rooted in the “squeezing tool”. It is mainly to assist the main character Princess Maky to create the overall pattern. The image of the Queen came from the “cake spatula”. It helps to create the overall shape. The image of the Old King rooted in the “cake pan”. It aims to create lively scenes.

Every character has a very distinct personality. For example, Princess Maky has a lot of hats made of various cakes; her grandfather, the Old King, likes her to sit on his head very much, so visually, he also seems to wear a hat. These characters constitute the entire Cake Kingdom, and storylines can be designed to cater to the atmosphere of specific festivals. For example, on Valentine’s Day, Princess Maky carries Cupid's arrow to look for the fate of love, conveying stories about romance.
